Staff Spotlight: Angela Smith

Hey families! My name is Mrs. Smith and this is my fourth year teaching fourth grade at WMAES. As a math enthusiast, I love inspiring my students to explore the wonders of numbers and equations. I also enjoy getting creative in the classroom, teaching students the art of origami and thank you card-making.

Before becoming a teacher, I spent four years in the Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. It was a great experience, but my passion for teaching led me to pursue a career in education. Outside of school, my husband and I love spending time with our two furry friends, Toben (a 150 pound Mastiff) and Mei Mei (a Red Irish Setter).

One of my favorite things to do is travel, and I’ve been lucky enough to visit over 15 different countries! I’m also a frequent visitor to Taiwan, where I get to spend time with my 104 year old grandmother and explore the beautiful country.
