Even when I struggled and made mistakes, I was given more support than I could have ever asked for.”

Through hands-on learning experiences and exposure to various subjects, Colin discovered his aptitude for logic and math. This realization led him to explore potential career paths, ultimately sparking an interest in becoming an electrician.

A pivotal moment came when a Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) guest speaker introduced Colin and his peers to the programs offered for aspiring CTE-related jobs.

Collin Greathouse“One day, a guest speaker from GRCC told us about their programs, and I was delighted to find that they offered training for future electricians,” he shared. “The opportunity available at WMAES was unparalleled, and I’m very glad to have spent my primary education within its walls. I hope to find the same opportunity and support at GRCC as I take the next major step in my life.”

Colin’s story is a testament to the power of hands-on learning and career education in shaping students’ futures. Schools like WMAES play a vital role in preparing students for success in both academic pursuits and future careers, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving world.
