Our summer programs are designed for specific aged campers. We want to give each group a unique learning experience that is just right for them. We hope to explore the campus ecosystems with your camper this summer.

Our Camps

Nature Nuts Preschool Program

June 17 – June 20
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Ages: 4-entering Preschool • $20 general cost • $10 for WMAES students
Campers will explore the ecosystems at WMAES each day! They will look for frogs in the forest and explore with their senses in the prairie and much more. All programs include a story or song and a lot of fun with our experienced Environmental Science instructors Holly and Shawn.

*Parents, please stay with campers for the first program.

Ecology Exploration Extravaganza for Kindergarten

June 17 – June 20
12:30 –1:30 p.m.

Ages: Entering Kindergarten • $20 general cost • $10 for WMAES students
This camp is designed for your camper who has completed Preschool and ready for Kindergarten! They will explore the wilds of WMAES 62 acres and learn about prairies and the animals who call this place home. Last day campers will dress in camouflage and see if they can blend in like the animals.

Fantastic Forest Fun for 1st Grade

July 8 – July 11
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Ages: Entering 1st grade • $20 general cost • $10 for WMAES students
May the Forest Be with You! Campers will head to the forest and use microscopes and magnifying glasses to see who lives under a dead log-maybe you’ll find a salamander! We’ll learn about birds of the forest and follow some White-tailed deer trails. Last day we’ll celebrate with a campfire and s’mores!

*Parents are invited to attend last day for campfire.

Amazing Animal Survivors

July 15 – July 18
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Ages: Entering 2nd-4th • $60 general cost • $20 for WMAES students
Campers will learn how animals survive by exploring amazing adaptations! We’ll play some animal games inside and outside, do some animal crafts, track animals, use binoculars to see how our feathered friends survive and more! Last day campers can wear camouflage and see if they survive and have lunch over the fire!

*Lunch is included in camp and can come from WMAES or campers can bring their own.
*Thursday lunch will be hot dogs cooked over a campfire with chips and s’mores.

Earth Skills Survival Camp

July 22 – July 25
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Ages: Entering 5th-8th • $60 general cost • $20 for WMAES students
Campers will learn all about survival skills and how our ancestors lived off the land! They will learn to make fires with flint and steel, use natural materials to make shelters throughout the week, practice mapping and compass skills, and collect water made with their own solar still.

*Lunch on Thursday will be around the fire that campers must make themselves.
*Campers may bring lunch or have our school lunch for free.

Program Details

Once campers are registered, you will receive an email confirming registration.
Two weeks before your camp starts, you will receive an email regarding
camp information: where to meet, what to bring and who we are.

What to Bring

• Please come prepared for weather.
• Please bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray.
